M & M Downs WSL Competition in Plant City, Florida

WEB EXCLUSIVE STORY

M & M from Sydney, Florida traveled to Plant City, Florida to compete in a WSL E division tournament. At stake for the first place team was $200 and 12 Worth fielders gloves. When the final out was called, M&M marched away with the prize package and the WSL E title.

M&M sliced through the winners’ bracket with a perfect 3-0 record on their way to grabbing their first tournament victory of the 2008 season. Their first victory came against the Polkats from South Florida. In this outing, M&M loaded up on offense with late inning rallies to capture an easy 28-4 victory. After a slight break to recharge the batteries, M&M closed the door on Florida’s Backdoor squad by a score of 6-4. In this defensive struggle M&M turned their share of double plays on their way to victory.

In the championship game, M&M shot down Air Assault 13-1 to grab the $200 prize and the 12 Worth gloves. In the game, M&M infielders put on a defensive clinic, as they combined three double plays and  a  few spectacular diving plays to hold Air Assault to just one run for the game.
